Jonathan Rose

Director

As a committed and inspiring leader of projects and teams, I combine an inter-disciplinary, multi-practice approach to creating successful new places, resolving complex design challenges from the deeply held view that social and environmental drivers lie at the heart of long term value creation and holistic, sustainable development. I encourage people to look at complex challenges afresh, and to give their best to a project. Ultimately, this leads to work that is valued very highly, giving our clients the tools and the confidence to achieve the conditions for success.

My current work in UK includes city centre regeneration at Smithfield in Birmingham, anchored by new central markets – and London’s most significant large scale masterplan at Thamesmead Waterfront, balancing nature and riverfront living at district scale for Peabody Trust JV.

Addressing the challenges of rapid urbanisation, I have led a team within the Royal Govt of Bhutan to create a Structure Plan for the capital city of Thimphu integrating Gross National Happiness principles with Doughnut Economics.

In addition, I have worked extensively with a small number of Universities, including Cambridge, the National University of Singapore and Glasgow, supporting their estate and campus development strategies and have led design teams for major delivery-focused masterplans.
