As an architect and urban designer, I have always been fascinated by how design can contribute to the changes already happening in people’s lives. Accepting and sometimes encouraging the unpredictability of spaces and human conduct fascinates me. This allows me to think outside the box and go beyond the traditional.
I believe in the importance of working across different scales, from the scale of individual dwellings to that of neighbourhoods and cities. My interest and experiences in exploring housing typologies have helped me understand the value of fostering new ways of living and working, which forms the basis for reimagining urban life. I believe that architecture can bring wider urban benefits; therefore, form and type play crucial roles in urban design.
I am interested in exploring the potential of in-between spaces, which could be circulatory spaces within a building or spaces between buildings. I find it intriguing to consider what these spaces could offer and to what extent we can push the boundaries of shared spaces in order to bring design into the conversation for the future of our urban culture.
